It finally felt like spring with some beautiful soccer weather on Friday night as the Chix tied the Dutch of Holland 1-1. Despite controlling possession for the majority of the game, the Chix found themselves down 1-0 at halftime. The Dutch capitalized on an early goal as the Chix got caught watching the ball on defense. Even though the Chix had 26 shots on the night, they just couldn't seem to find the back of the net. However, the ladies never gave up or stopped battling and were able to score a late goal with 8 minutes remaining in regulation. Kaiya Antrup played a great ball in which Sam Putnam was able to finish with an assist from Lia Maggini. Goalkeeper Hope Steenwyk played another great game and came up with clutch saves throughout the night. The Chix are in action again on Monday as they welcome the Crusaders of Unity Christian.
