The Chix traveled Thursday night to Muskegon to play the Sailors of Mona Shores.  The game was close throughout the first quarter as the Chix led 15-13 after 1 quarter.  But in the 2nd quarter, the Chix clamped down on defense and got the offense rolling, knocking down 4 three-point shots in the quarter, to outscore the host Sailors 20-2 in the 2nd quarter and lead 35-15 at the half.  The Chix extended the advantage in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Mona Shores 19-6, and won the game 68-40.

Offensively, the Chix continue to have balanced scoring.  Trip Riemersma scored 12 of his 14 points in the first half, knocking down a couple of three-point shots.  Nathan Claerbaut recorded his 2nd double-double of the season, scoring 14 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, & blocking 3 shots.  Brandon Claerbaut scored 11 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists.  Ethan Houghtaling knocked down 2 three-point shots on his way to 8 points.  Adam Cassel had a great all-around game, scoring 7 points, pulled down 4 boards, dished out 5 assists, and recorded 3 steals.  Luke Gruppen and Levi Tilden each scored 4 points, while Conner Schipper scored 2 points, grabbed 4 boards, and blocked 3 shots.

The Chix road tour continues on Saturday as they travel to Hudsonville to play former OK-Green opponent Unity Christian.  The game time is 1 pm.
