The 3 -2 Zeeland East Chix traveled to Wyoming to play the Wolves on a beautiful Friday night for football.  After a miscue on the opening kickoff of the game, the Chix found their stride behind a dominant defense and an efficient offense to take control of the game, winning 44-12.  

In the first quarter, Senior RB Kolter Rotman scampered into the end zone from 13 yard touchdown out.  Senior RB Peyton Davis converted the 2-Pt conversion rushing the ball into the endzone and the Chix led 8-0.  After a Wolves punt, the Chix marched 41 yards down the field to score its 2nd touchdown of the game.  Jr QB Will Drnek ran the ball into the endzone from 4 yards out and the Chix increased their lead to 16-0 after Drnek found Sr WR Caleb Claerbaut for the 2 Pt Conversion midway through the 2nd Qtr.  The Chix scored again, this time late in the 2nd Qtr, on Sr WR Isaiah Strom 12 yard end around carry.  Drnek found Rotman in the endzone for the 2 Pt Conversion and the Chix led 24 -0.  The Chix defense was dominant in the first half, giving up only 26 yards on 4 Wyoming possessions, including 6 sacks of the Wyoming quarterback.

The 2nd half featured lots of scoring as Wyoming scored 12 points on 2 big passing plays while the Chix scored 3 times in the 2nd Half on a mixture of running and passing.  In the 3rd quarter, QB Will Drnek found fellow Jr,, WR Isaiah Boonstra, for a 36 yard catch and run and the Chix increased their lead to 30-6.  In the 4th Qtr., Jr. Ben DeLost powered the ball into the endzone from 3 yards away and the Chix led 38-12.  In the 3 minutes of the game, Jr. RB Payton Sackett found the endzone from 25 yards away to complete the scoring for the Chix at 44-12.

The Chix are back home at Zeeland Stadium on Friday night for Homecoming 2025.  Come out to support your Chix as they take on the South Christian Sailors, with a 7:00 pm kickoff.
