Boys Varsity BaseballZeeland East traveled to rival Zeeland West on Tuesday for a conference double-header. The Chix were victorious in both games by scores of 2-1 and 12-2.In game one, Mason Raade (Zeeland East) and Logan Nash (Zeeland West) had a pitchers duel. Raade took the win on the mound going a complete game, scattering 7 hits and allowing one run while striking out 6 and walking none. Offensively, Ethan Campbell had 2 hits and a walk while Tyler Chandler scored both runs for the Chix. Chandler also had a double in the game.In game 2, the bats woke up for Zeeland East as they had 12 hits. Ethan Campbell and Mason Raade each had 3 hits in the game. Raade added 3 RBI and two runs. Boys Varsity BaseballZeeland East Varsity Baseball hosted Spring Lake for the final game of the series on Thursday. After splitting the double-header on Tuesday, Zeeland East clinched the series win on Thursday defeating the Lakers by a score of 2-0. The game was truly a pitcher's duel with strong starts from both Spring Lake's Maddox Kippling (Michigan State Commit) and Zeeland East's Ethan Campbell. Kippling went 6 innings for Spring Lake in the loss, surrendering 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Campbell for Zeeland East recorded the win going 5 and ⅓ and striking out 10 while giving up only 2 hits. Freshman Sawyer Klaasen closed the final 5 outs for the save.
