Zeeland East (10-1-1) defeated Holland (0-2) by a 6-2 score on August 31st, leaning on a strong doubles lineup to secure the dual-meet win. Holland took the top two singles matches, but Zeeland East responded by winning six of the next seven courts to pull away. At No. 3 singles, Zeeland East’s Andrew Colasanti held off Carter Martin 6-3, 7-5 in one of the day’s tightest matches. Oliver Reese followed with a steadier 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, giving Zeeland East its first singles point and starting the comeback. The doubles lineup delivered the rest. Jacob Guerriero and Luke Hathaway won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles, while Jace Velderman and Payton Ott dominated No. 2 doubles with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep. Zeeland East also got straight-set victories from Lukas Hafeman and Pierson Kolean, and from Ben Slotman and Max Lewis to close out the scoring. The result helped Zeeland East keep its strong start intact at 10-1-1. No. 5 doubles team of Dylan Mishler and Carson Van Dyke also won in straight sets.
