HC defeats ZE Varsity Tennis Holland Christian (6-0-1) defeated Zeeland East (11-2-1) by an 8-0 score on September 9th, sweeping all four singles and four doubles matches. At No. 1 singles, Holland Christian’s Nico Grosso dispatched Zeeland East’s Daniel Steenwyk 6-1, 6-1. Asher Grosso added a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles, while Joseph Whitmore did not drop a game in the second set of his 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4. Holland Christian completed the doubles sweep with strong performances across the lineup. Graham Tanis and Michael Gorno rolled past Jacob Guerriero and Luke Hathaway 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, while the closest match came at No. 2, where Brody Bergsma and Eli Whitmore defeated Jace Velderman and Payton Ott 6-2, 7-5. The shutout extended Holland Christian’s unbeaten dual-meet season to seven results.
