Zeeland East High School

The Chix travelled to Mason and Haslett high schools to compete in an 8 team Invitational on Saturday. Zeeland East came away victorious scoring 51pts. Daniel Steenwyk (1S) won 2 of 3 matches finishing in 3rd place, Gavin Sullivan (2S) took 6th, Andrew Colasanti (3S) won two of three matches to place 5th. Freshman Oliver Reese (4S) won all three matches defeating Mason in the final 6-1, 7-6. In doubles play our 1D team of Luke Hathaway and Jacob Guerriero finished runners-up with a heartbreaking loss to Gull Lake 3-6, 6-1, 12-10 in the finals. Jace Velderman and Payton Ott (2D) finished in 3rd place after a tough 3 set loss to Mason. Lukas Hafeman and Pierson Kolean (3D) won all three of their matches losing just 7 games over three matches. The Chix continued to flex their muscles when Ben Slotman and Max Lewis (4D) swept through their competition enroute to claiming the 4D flight championship. Finally, ZE (5D) team of Carson Van Dyke and Dylan Mishler lost a tightly contested championship match to finish runners-up.
