Zeeland East Athletics Varsity vs Forest Hills Central High School (6 - 34) Loss The 2-1 Chix traveled to Grand Rapids to take on the Rangers of Forest Hills Central last week Friday, September 18. The Rangers came out red hot, taking the opening game kickoff back 94 yards for a touchdown. The Rangers defense was very stingy, keeping the Chix offense under wraps. The Rangers would score 3 more touchdowns in the first half and added a Field Goal and to lead 31-0 at halftime. The Chix received the opening kickoff of the 2nd half and moved the ball down the field for their only touchdown of the game. A 53 yards catch and run from Senior QB Will Drnek to Senior WR Isaiah Boonstra set up a 2 yard TD run by Senior RB Payton Sackett and the Chix were on the scoreboard trailing 31-6. But more strong defense by the Rangers in the 2nd half and the Chix fell to Rangers 34-6. The loss moves the Chix overall record to 2-2, and 0-2 in OK-Gold Conference play. The Chix are back in action Friday night, September 25, as they play Garden City High School from the Metro Detroit area in a neutral site game being played at East Lansing High School.
