Ludington (18-3-1) defeated Zeeland East (13-5-2) by a 6-2 score on September 26th, controlling all four singles courts and splitting the doubles lineup. Ludington set the tone with a singles sweep. At No. 1 singles, Ryan Higley defeated Zeeland East’s Daniel Steenwyk 6-1, 6-1, while Ryder Saya closed out a 26-0 season record with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Oliver Reese at No. 4. The result also included straight-set wins for Oliver Kolb and Tyler Keillor at the second and third spots. Ludington’s Gavin Cohoon and Ethan Blough added a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jacob Guerriero and Luke Hathaway at No. 1 doubles. Zeeland East answered at No. 3 doubles, where Lukas Hafeman and Pierson Kolean defeated Patrick Hart and Owen Henke 6-0, 6-2, and also captured No. 4 doubles. The victory kept Ludington’s season moving with its singles depth and top doubles teams leading the way. Grand Rapids Christian (10-8) defeated Zeeland East (13-5-2) by a 5-3 score on September 26th, taking three of four singles flights while the teams split the doubles courts. At No. 1 singles, Grand Rapids Christian’s Manuel Meca blanked Daniel Steenwyk 6-0, 6-0 to set the tone. William Kok added a three-set victory at No. 4 singles, defeating Oliver Reese 6-1, 2-6, 10-3 in a three-set tiebreak. Grand Rapids Christian also secured No. 1 doubles, where Will Deblecourt and Eli Setlock defeated Jacob Guerriero and Luke Hathaway 6-2, 7-6 (2). Zeeland East answered at No. 3 doubles as Lukas Hafeman and Pierson Kolean recovered from an opening-set loss to beat Henry Meyer and Elijah Kuiper 0-6, 6-3, 10-6 in a three-set tiebreak. The victory gave Grand Rapids Christian its 10th win and underscored the strength of its singles lineup. ZE Ties South Christian 4 to 4 The Chix swept the doubles to secure the tie against state ranked South Christian. Winning flight championships were the Chix 3rd Doubles pair of Lukas Hafeman and Pierson Kolean and the 4d flight of Ben Slotman and Max Lewis
