Zeeland East traveled to Davenport University on Frday for a non-conference double-header with East Kentwood.  The Chix were able to sweep the double header by scores of 4-2 (game 1) and 9-0 (game 2).

In game 1, Max Mulder recorded the win on the mound.  Mulder went 4 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6.  Noah DeWitt pitched a 3-inning save, allowing no runs on just one hit while striking out 5.

Offensively, Zeeland East broke the game open in the second inning, scoring all 4 runs on 4 consecutive hits, capped off by a Chris Seay ground rule double.  Koby Windeler and Noah DeWitt each added doubles.

In game 2, Evan Owens hurled 6 strong innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits while striking out 9.  

Offensively, Zeeland East tallied 13 hits, led by JJ Salas (4 for 4), Joe Hilbink (3 for 4) and Noah DeWitt (3 for 4).  Chris Seay added an RBI triple.

The two wins puts Zeeland East's record at 30-6 on the season.  This is the first time in school histrory that a team has ever won 30 plus games in back to back seasons.  They have also accomplished more than 30 wins in 3 of the previous 4 seasons, and 4 times in school history.
