In game 2 of the double header, the Chix lost 7 to 5 in extra innings. The Chix were leading 4 to 1 going into the top of the 5th inning, but a number of defensive lapses allowed Hamilton to score 4 runs in the inning to take a 5-4 lead. The Chix battled back, tied the score at 5 on a Luke Gruppen single with 2 outs, but could not plate the winning run. In the 6th inning, Hamilton scored a couple of runs on 3 hits to secure the win. Luke Gruppen started and pitched 5 strong innings, allowing just 1 earned run. Offensively, the Chix banged out 8 hits. Luke Gruppen had 2 hits, run scored and a RBI. Isaiah Buitenhuis had a hit and 2 RBI. Keenan Faber had a hit and a RBI and Riley Wilson added a double and a run scored. The Chix record now stands at 5 wins and 4 losses. The Chix home stand wraps up Wednesday as they host Holland High for a double header
