In the second game of the Double header, the Chix lost 3 – 2 to the Bulldogs. Luke Gruppen started for the Chix and pitched a strong game, holding the Bulldogs offense to 3 runs, with only 2 being earned. Keenan Faber relieved Gruppen in the 4th inning and allowed just 1 hit and no runs.
Offensively, the Chix made some noise early in the game, scoring 2 runs in the first inning and had the bases loaded in the 2nd inning, but they were not able to score. After the 2nd inning, the Chix offense was limited by solid Byron Center pitching and good defense. Brandon Claerbaut had a double, run scored and a RBI in the game. Sam Cochran added 2 hits and Isaiah Buitenhuis added a hit and a RBI.
The Chix are back in action on Thursday as they host Holland Christian in a double header.
