HOLLAND CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 5
In game 2 of the double header, the Chix lost 5-1. Drew Wyckoff and Trenton Lynema both pitched well for Zeeland, but some defensive lapses hurt the Chix in allowing some unearned runs to score. Brandon Claerbaut did add one highlight reel defensive play when he gunned down an HC runner at home to end the top of the 4th.
Offensively for Zeeland, Cole Machiela had 2 hits. Luke Gruppen added a double. The Chix record now stands at 13 wins and 9 losses on the season, 9 – 8 in the OK Green conference play.
The Chix are back in action Friday afternoon in Hudsonville, playing Unity Christian for a single game.
