ZEELAND WEST HIGH SCHOOL: 2
In game 2 of the double header, the Chix scored 4 runs in the 2nd inning and won 4 -2. Sam Cochran took to the mound for the Chix and pitched a complete game. Sam allowed only 3 hits and 2 walks and 1 earned run.
Offensively, it was a balanced attack for the Chix. Nathan Claerbaut got the scoring started with a RBI double. Riley Wilson added a RBI single for the Chix. Brandon Claerbaut added 2 hits, including a triple and Luke Gruppen added a double. Keenan Faber reached base twice, scoring a run.
The Chix final record on the season was 17 – 10 (Overall) and 13-9 (OK Green). There was great growth and improvement throughout the season with this group of boys and the future is bright. Thank you to all those who supported the team throughout the season!
