Zeeland East Wrestling split the team this weekend sending teams to Battle Creek Central and another to Kelloggsville. The Battle Creek squad returned with five (5) placers in a very tough tournament. Tommy Le finished in 5th at 106, JJ Ledford placed 2nd at 113, Gabe Amid placed 4th at 190, and Parker Williams placed 2nd at 285. Gavin Drenten was the Champion at 138 defeating returning Two-time State Champion Landyn Crance of Union City in the finals. The team as a whole finished 10th of 19 total teams, most of which are perennial State Qualifying teams.
At Kelloggsville the remaining team wrestled hard with only Jacob Mercado bringing home hardware placing 3rd at 215.
East is back in action at Coopersville on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season conference schedule.
