Zeeland East finished the three game sweep of Grand Rapids Union on Wednesday after being postponed due to weather last week. Zeeland East jumped on top early scoring 5 runs in the top of the first inning and then adding three more in both the second and third inning to win 11-1.
Jake Meyering started on the mound for Zeeland East and records the win, going 2 innings, striking out 4 and allowing no hits. Connor Tietema was solid in relief, throwing 3 innings and allowing only one hit while striking out two batters.
Offensively, the Chix were led by Charlie Lacny (2 hits, 1 double, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored) and Max Cochran (2 hits). Brenston Brown also added a double.
Zeeland East improves their record to 15-7 on the season and 9-5 in the OK Green. They travel to Wyoming to finish up a 3-game series on Thursday.
