In game one of the DH, opening OK Green conference play, Zeeland East was defeated by Zeeland West by a score of 4-1.
The Dux took an early lead in the first inning taking advantage of a walk and an error, scoring 2 runs. Zeeland East could not respond, only scoring 1 run in the game on 4 hits.
Adam Berghorst was charged with the loss for the Chix, pitching 5 innings, scattering 5 hits, walking 3 and striking out 7 Dux batters.
Game 2 was postponed due to darkness in the 6th inning with the Chix leading 6-3. Game 2 will finish on Thursday with a third game to follow.
