In game 1 of a Saturday double header Zeeland East defeated Whitehall 5-0. The Chix were carried by a strong pitching performance by freshman Ethan Houghtaling who pitched 6 and 2/3 innings. In the outing, Houghtaling struck out 13 batters and only allowed 3 hits to record his first career varsity win.
Offensively, Zeeland East was led by Kainan Bayn and Adam Berghorst who each recorded 3 hits, including a double each. Bayn also scored 3 runs.
