In game one of the OK-Green double header, Zeeland East defeated Byron Center 8-4.
Byron Center had an early lead 2-1 until the top of the 5th inning when the Chix scored 4 runs on 3 hits and a Byron Center error to take the lead for good. Adam Berghorst pitched 6 innings for Zeeland East, scattering 6 hits and striking out 7 in the win. Kainan Bayn recorded the save getting 3 outs in the 7th inning.
Offensively the Chix were led by Collin Arendsen who had 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Kainan Bayn added 2 RBI while Josh Fusco scored 2runs and stole 2 bases. Ethan Houghtaling broke the game open in the 5th inning with a 2RBI double.
