Game 2 of the double header was a pitchers dual with Byron Center coming out on top 2-1. Both teams had only 4 hits a piece, but a late error by Zeeland East gave Byron Center their only 2 runs in the game.
Clayton Cochran pitched a complete game gem for the Chix in the loss. Cochran struck out 9 batters and allowed only one earned run, scattering 4 hits.
The Chix got their only run in the top of the first inning on doubles by Cobe Huizenga and Adam Berghorst.
The split moves the Zeeland East record to 13-4 overall and 5-3 in the OK Green. The series finale with Byron Center will be played at Zeeland on Thursday.
