Zeeland East defeated Hamilton on Thursday afternoon to win the 3-game series by a score of 9-0. Clayton Cochran continued his great season on the mound, pitching 6 shut out innings and allowing only 3 hits and striking out 5 in the win. Peyton Remick pitched a perfect 7th inning to seal the victory.
Ethan Houghtaling led the offense for the Chix with two hits, one double, two RBI, two runs scored a stolen base and two walks breaking the single season walk record (28) previously held by Dan Pohanka in 2014.
Layden Byker and Collin Arendsen each added two hits while Josh Fusco had a double.
Zeeland East improves to 21-9 on the year and 10-5 in the OK-Green.
