In game one of a non-league double-header, Zeeland East defeated visiting Reeths-Puffer by a score of 6-3.  Zeeland East took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on a single and stolen base by Collin Arendsen and then an RBI single by Ethan Houghtaling.  Reeths Puffer scored 3 of their own in the top of the second before the Chix scored 5 unanswered runs to seal the victory.  

Ethan Houghtaling tallies the win on the mound for Zeeland East.  He pitched 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 2 hits and struck out 4 batters.  Michael Zeerip pitched great in 3 and 2/3 innings of relief not allowing a run, giving up 4 hits and striking out 4.

Offensively the Chix had 10 hits led by MIchael Zeerip who tallied 3, including a double.  Jeff Agar and Sage Kraai each added a pair of hits, while Luke Gruppen had a 2RBI single to break the game open in the 3rd inning.

In Game 2, Zeeland East defeated Reeths-Puffer 8-0.  Peyton Remick led the way for the Chix, pitching 5 shut out innings, allowing 4 hits, while striking out 8.  Offensively Zeeland East was led by Collin Arendsen who had two hits, including a 3RBI triple and 3 runs scored.  Michael Zeerip also added two hits and an RBI while Caleb Hansen scored two runs.

The Chix (2-0) host Muskegon Oakridge for a double-header on Thursday.
