Zeeland East completed a double-header sweep of Holland on Tuesday.  The Chix used solid pitching and defense to secure victories in both games.

Game 1 Zeeland East 5, Holland 2

Michael Zeerip recorded the win on the mound for Zeeland East, pitching 5 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.  Ethan Houghtaling recorded the save pitching the final two innings, striking out 2.

Sophomores Luke Gruppen and Tanner Tresemer led the offense for Zeeland East.  Gruppen had three hits while Tresemer had two, including a double.  

Game 2 Zeeland East 7, Holland 0

Peyton Remick pitched a complete game shut out for Zeeland East, allowing only 3 hits, while striking out 12.  

Offensively in game two, Zeeland East was led by Michael Zeerip who had 3 hits, including a double.  Logan Brouwer also added two hits and 3 stolen bases while Jeff Agar was on base 4 times and scored 2 runs.

The Chix (4-2, 2-0 OK Green) finish the series at home on Thursday.
