Zeeland East traveled to Whitehall for a double header and won both games (3-0 and 9-7).

In game one, Sophomore Jeff Agar recorded his first varsity win on the mound, pitching 5 innings and allowing on 4 hits and 2 walks.  Agar also struck out 5.  Ethan DeWitt picked up the save, pitching the final two shut-out innings.

Offensively Zeeland East capitalized on 3 runs in the fourth inning on a walk by Agar and back to back singles by Michael Zeerip and Tanner Tresemer.  Luke Gruppen then knocked in two runs with a huge 2-out double.

In game 2 Sophomore Luke Gruppen recorded his first varsity win on the mound, pitching 4 innings and allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on four hits, while striking out 2.  Kevin McRae and Sage Kraai pitched in relief to seal the win for Zeeland East.  

Offensively the Chix were led by Ethan Houghtaling (4 hits, including a double) and Tanner Tresemer (3 hits, including a double).  Collin Arendsen chipped in with two hits of his own and Jeff Agar had a double in the victory.

Zeeland East imroves their record to 7-2 and host Byron Center on Tuesday for a double-header.
