BYRON CENTER HIGH SCHOOL: 6
Zeeland East lost both games of an OK-Green double header on Tuesday. In game one, the Chix trailed 2-1 after 6 innings, but in the top of the 7th, Zeeland East surrendered 4 runs on 3 walks and 3 singles to let the game get away and lose 6-1.
Ethan Houghtaling pitched a gem, going 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and only 1 earned run while striking out 6. Offensively the Chix only had two hits and the sole run of the game came from a Tanner Tresemer Sac Fly, scoring Collin Arendsen.
Game 2 was all Byron Center as Zeeland East was no hit and lost 14-0 in 5 innings. Peyton Remick takes the loss on the mound.
Zeeland East will travel to Byron Center on Thursday to finish the series.
