Zeeland East hosted Mona Shores on Thursday to finish the OK-Green series opener.  Zeeland East trailed in the top of the 5th inning by a score of 2-1 in the continuation of game 2 postponed on Tuesday night.  In the top of the 5th Riley Wilson walked with two outs then Trevor Raade singled and Brandon Claerbaut hit a double to take the lead 3-2.  The Chix added another insurance run in the top of the 7th on a Brandon Claerbaut single, to take a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning.  With one out in the bottom of the 7th, Mona Shores had a walked batter, a hit batter and then Aaron Piasecki hit a 3-run walk-off homerun to win the game.  

Brandon Claerbaut had two hits and 3 RBI, Riley Wilson added two hits and Trevor Raade scored two runs.

In game 3 of the series the Chix bounced back and defeated Mona Shores 9-0.  Caleb Schrotenboer recorded the win on the mound going 4 strong innings, allowing only 3 hits.  Aidan Fredericks struck out 4 batters in two innings of relief.

Offensively the Chix tallied 10 hits.  Jeff Agar had 3 hits, Sam Cochran had a pair of singles and scored two runs.  Trenton Lynema broke the game open in the 3rd inning with a two out, two RBI single.  Freshman Trevor Raade also added his first career home run (solo) in the second inning.

Zeeland East (3-1, 2-1 OK Green) hosts Whitehall for a double header on Saturday.
