Zeeland East traveled to Jenison for a non-conference double-header on Saturday.  The Chix were able to come away with two wins by scores of 4-3 (12 innings) and 6-4.  

In game one, Zeeland East used 3 pitchers who combined for 12 innings of work, allowing only 5 hits and striking out 13.  Ethan Houghtaling started the game striking out 6 in three innings and allowing 3 runs (1 ER) in 3 and 2/3 innings.  Luke Gruppen took over and was phenomenal throwing 6 and 1/3 inning, allowing only 2 hits and no runs, striking out 6.  Jeff Agar recorded the win, pitching the final 2 innings, allowing only one hit and striking out one.

Offensively, Trevor Raade led the Chix with 3 hits.  Ethan Houghtaling had a triple and Jeff Agar had the winning RBI double in the top of the 12th inning.  

In Game 2, Sam Cochran, Trevor Raade and Keenan Faber combined on the mound for the Chix.  Trevor Raade recorded the win in relief and Keenan Faber picked up the save.

Sam Cochran scored two runs in the game and had a huge 2 RBI double to take the lead in the 4th inning.  Cole Machiela chipped in with two singles while Nate Claerbaut had a two RBI single.

Zeeland East improves to 22-4 on the season and will travel to Holland on Tuesday for an OK Green double-header.
