Zeeland East Varsity Baseball clinched the outright OK-Green conference championship on Tuesday by winning two games at Muskegon Reeths-Puffer by scores of 4-2 and 10-0 (5 innings).

In game one, Caleb Schrotenboer recorded his 7th win of the season on the mound for the Chix.  Schrotenboer went 4 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits while striking out 5.  Luke Gruppen pitched perfect in relief recording the 2 and 1/3 inning save, allowing no runs while striking out 3.

Offensively the Chix were led by Tanner Tresemer who had two hits in the game.  Ethan Houghtaling added a triple and run scored, while Brooks Huizenga had two RBI.

In game two, Sam Cochran fired a complete game shutout on the mound.  Cochran went 5 innings and allowed only one hit while striking out 2.  The Chix defense was solid not committing a single error in the game.

Offensively, freshman Trevor Raade led the charge by recording 3 hits including a huge homerun to break the game open.  Brooks Huizenga, Riley Wilson, Luke Gruppen and Sam Cochran all chipped in with two hits in the game, while Tanner Tresemer, Isaiah Buitenhuis and Jeff Agar recorded doubles.

Zeeland East improves to 29-5 on the year and 19-1 in the OK Green.  The Chix will host Reeths-Puffer on Thursday to finish the series.
