Zeeland East varsity baseball traveled to Holland on Tuesday night to begin OK Green conference play. In game 1, Zeeland East came out victorious with a 2-1 score in 10 innings.
Trevor Raade started on the mound for the Chix, allowing one hit in five innings and striking out 8 batters in the no-decision. The lone Dutch run (unearned) came in the first inning on two Chixerrors. Max Salas records the win in relief, pitching 5 innings, striking out 9 and not allowing a hit.
Offensively Zeeland East was led by Charlie Lacnywho had three hits in the game and scored the go-ahead run in the 10th innings. Austin Keur was on base 4 times in the game, while Aidan Jaworoskiadded two hit, including a double. Lukas Assadrove in the winning run on a single in the 10th inning.
In game two the Chix are leading 6-3 in the bottom of the second inning, but will be resumed on Thursday due to darkness.
