Zeeland East varsity baseball hosted Reeths-Puffer on Wednesday for an OK Green matchup. Zeeland East jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the first inning, and 4-2 after two innings of play, but could not hold on from there. The Chix made 7 errors in the game allowing Reeths Puffer to take a 10-4 lead into the 4th inning. Zeeland East rallied back scoring 4 runs to make the game 10-8 going into the 5th inning, but could not hold on as Reeths-Puffer tallied 9 runs in the top of the 5th for the win.
Aidan Fredricks started on the mound for the Chix and records the loss. Fredricks pitched 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 10 runs, 3 earned on 6 hits. Nick Williams and Garrett Barense both relieved to finish the game.
Offensively, Zeeland East was led by Easton Remick who tallied two hits and an RBI. Aidan Jaworowski added a two RBI single while Max Salas and Austin Keur each scored two runs. Noah Ledford added a double.
Zeeland East will travel to Reeths-Puffer on Thursday for a double header to finish the series.
