Zeeland East was defeated by Mona Shores on Tuesday night by a score of 5-2. Mona Shores star pitcher Jaxon Huffman pitched 6 and 2/3 innings for the Sailors, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 11 Chix batters.
Jake Meyering pitched a solid 6 innings for Zeeland East, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits while striking out 2 in the great effort.
Offensively Zeeland East sophomore Max Salas had all 3 hits in the ballgame. Salas and Lukas Assa each scored a run.
The second game of the double-header was moved to Thursday due to bitter cold temperatures.
