Zeeland East varsity baseball completed the 3-game sweep of Reeths-Puffer on Thursday. The Chix defeated the Rockets by a score of 10-0 in 5 innings. Evan Owens recorded the win on the mound, pitching 4 innings and allowing zero runs on 3 hits while striking out 3. Connor Tietema pitched a perfect 5th inning recorded one strikeout and no hits.
Offensively, Zeeland East was led by Max Salas who had two hits in the game, 2 runs scored and an RBI. Austin Keur chipped in with one hit, 2 RBI and a run scored. Charlie Lacny was on base 3 times with a single and two walks, stole a base and scored a run. Brenston Brown added a double and 3 RBI.
The Chix improve to 19-1 on the season and 12-0 in the OK Green. They return to action at home on Saturday for the Zeeland East Invite, first pitch scheduled for 10am.
