Zeeland East completed the 3-game sweep of Mona Shores at home on Thursday, winning by a score of 8-0. The Chix didn't allow a single run in the entire series.
Easton Remick picked up the win on the mound throwing 6 innings, striking out 10 batters and only allowing 2 hits. Connor Tietema pitched the seventh to close the game striking out a batter and inducing 2 ground balls.
Offensively, the Chix tallied 8 hits. Remick and Aidan Jaworowski both had huge RBI hits to break the game open in the 2nd inning. Chris Seay added an RBI triple while Max Salas and Trevor Raade each had doubles. Salas ended the game with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
The Chix stay perfect in the OK-Green with a 15-0 conference record and improve to 24-1 overall on the year. Zeeland East will travel to Jenison for the Wildcat tournament on Saturday with Holt, Allendale and Jenison, first pitch at 10am.
