Zeeland East traveled to Unity Christian on Tuesday for an OK Black double-header.  The Chix won both games by scores of 4-3 and 8-5.

In game one, Max Mulder hurled a gem, going 6 and ⅔ innings, striking out 9 and allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.  Quincy Thome finished the game with a one pitch save getting a ground out to shortstop Cam Jaworoski.

Offensively the Chix tallied 13 hits.  Peyton Davis was 4 for 4 with two triples and an RBI.  Derek Baxter added an RBI double while Quincy Thome and Mason Raade each had two hits in the game.  Cam Jaworowski also chipped in with a single and a huge squeeze bunt RBI to add a run late in the game.

In game two, Derek Baxter recorded the win on the mound.  Baxter went 5 innings scattering 5 hits and allowing 1 earned runs while striking out 6.  Gavin Weighmink was solid in relief pitching two innings and allowing one run on 4 hits.

Offensively, Quincy Thome led the way with another 3-hit game (one double), two runs scored and an RBI.  Derek Baxter helped the cause with a huge 3-RBI double to break the game open in the 5th inning.

The Chix improve to 17-5 on the season and 11-3 in the OK Black.
