The Chix traveled to Hamilton Friday night to take on the Hamilton Hawkeyes.  In a high scoring game, the Chix won 80 - 72.  The Chix led 18 to 9 after the first quarter and 38-32 at halftime.  Hamilton tied the score and took the lead midway through the 3rd quarter before the Chix caught fire and led by 9 after 3 quarters.  The Chix extended the lead to 19 points in the 4th quarter and cruised to the 8 point victory.

The Chix were led by Trip Riemersma's 31 points on 12 of 16 shooting, including 3 three-point shots.  Nate Claerbaut added a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.  Both Trip and Nate had career-high points scored in the game.  Brandon Claerbaut played another all-around game, with 12 points, 9 boards, and 5 assists and Ethan Houghtaling added 6 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Chix record now stands at 7-2 and 3-0 in the OK Green.  The Chix travel to Unity Christian Tuesday night, January 21, to battle for 1st place in the conference standings early in the season.  The game time is around  7 pm.

A BIG Thank You goes out to the Coop and all the students who came to Hamilton to support the girls, and boys basketball teams tonight.  The energy and excitement the Coop brought to the game made for a great high school basketball experience.
