The Chix hosted Muskegon Reeths-Puffer their first home game of the year. The Chix led the game 23-19 at halftime, but took control of the game in the second half, limiting the talented Rockets to only 10 points in the second half, to win the game 50 - 29.
Offensively the Chix had a very balanced attack, with 5 players scoring 6 points or more in the game. Nathan Claerbaut had his first double-double of the year, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 boards. Luke Gruppen came off the bench to knock down 3 three-point shots on the way to his 11 points. Trip Riemersma scored 10 points and ripped down 6 rebounds. Brandon Claerbaut scored 9 points and dished out a career-high 8 assists. Ethan Houghtaling scored 6 points and had 7 rebounds.
The Chix are back in action next Tuesday night as they host Grand Rapids Union. Game time is 7 pm.
