The Chix hosted the Zeeland West Dux on Tuesday evening in the Coop.  The tensions were high in the first quarter as both teams had a hard time scoring.  Zeeland East used its size to grab some offensive rebounds and get some easy put-backs to take a 10-5 lead after the first quarter.  The 2nd quarter was closely contested as well, but the Chix added to their lead by one and led 25-19 at halftime.  In the 3rd quarter, the Chix scored the first bucket of the period to take an 8 point lead, but the Dux made a run, scoring 9 straight points, to take a 28-27 lead.  After a timeout, the Chix gathered themselves and finished the quarter on an 11-2 run of their own, to take an 8 point going into the 4th quarter.  The Chix were able to hold the lead in the 4th quarter and pull away with a 52-40 win.

The Chix were led in scoring by Trip Riemersma and Nate Claerbaut, who each scored 17 points in the game.  Trip added 8 rebounds while Nate added 13 rebounds and 5 assists.  Brandon Claerbaut scored 7 points and added 2 steals.  Ethan Houghtaling scored 6 points, grabbed 5 boards, and dished out 3 assists.  Luke Gruppen added 5 points.

With the win, the Chix record improves to 14-0 overall, 12-0 in the OK Green conference.  The win also clinches a share of the OK Green Conference title with 2 games to play.  If the Chix can secure a win in one of their next 2 conference games, they will win the outright conference championship

On Thursday, the Chix welcome the Wyoming Wolves to the Coop for Senior Night and the last regular-season home game of the year.  The Chix will honor 8 seniors who have contributed greatly to the program.  Varsity game time should be about 7 pm
