The Chix played the Dux from Zeeland West in the District 11 Semi-Final on Thursday evening at the COOP.  The Chix jumped out quickly, scoring the first 4 points of the game.  After the Dux hit a 3-point shot, the Chix scored the next 15 points of the 1st Quarter and led 19-3 at the end of one quarter.  The Chix defense continued to stiffe the Dux offense, holding them to only 9 1st half points and led 31-9 at the halftime break.  The Chix didn't slow down in the second half and pulled away to a 61-27 win.

The Chix were led in scoring by Trip Riemersma, who slammed home the 1,000th point of his high school career, and scored 20 points on the evening.  Trip also added 6 rebounds.  Nate Claerbaut had another double-double, scoring 18 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, dished out 6 assists, and blocked 3 shots.   Brandon Claerbaut scored 10 points and played great defense on the evening  Brandon added 8 rebounds and had 3 steals.  Ethan Houghtaling added 6 points, with 8 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Chix are back in action on Saturday in the District final against West Ottawa.  The game will be played at Zeeland East.
