The Chix hosted the Holland Christian Maroons on Friday night in their home opener.  The Maroons lead the game throughout the first half and led 30-24 at halftime.  Maroons extended their lead to 9 points after the 3rd Qtr and extended the lead to double digits in the 4th.  The Chix made a late push, trimming a 14-point deficit to 6-points with under a minute to play, but the Maroons hung on to win, 59-51. 

Junior BJ Walker led the Chix in scoring, tallying 22 points, while grabbing 6 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists & adding 3 steals.  Senior Layne Risdon scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half.  Risdon added 6 rebounds and an assist.  Junior Jacob Vera scored 5 points and grabbed 3 boards, while Junior Will Ver Steeg chipped in with 4 points.  

The loss levels the Chix record to 2 wins and 2 losses.  The Chix are back on the road Tuesday night when they travel to Lansing to play Waverly High School.  The game should tip around 6 pm.
