The Chix defeated the Hamilton Hawkeyes, in an OK Green opener, by the score of 39-14. ZE had 497 yards in total offense. Gabe Taylor and Josh Fusco led the offense. Taylor was 10-15 passing for 130 yards and 2 TDs. He also had 135 yards rushing on 13 carries and another TD. Fusco rushed for 96 yards on 15 carries, caught 3 passes for 46 yards, and also had an interception. The defense was led by LB Boone Bonnema with 11 tackles.  DE Adam Berghorst and LB Tag Bonnema chipped in with 9 tackles and 8 tackles respectively.  The Chix return to the friendly confines of Zeeland Stadium next week to take on the Maroons of Holland Christian.
