On another soggy Friday night the Chix of Zeeland East defeated the Byron Center Bulldogs by the score of 27-13. Offensively once again the Chix were led by the one, two punch of Senior RB Josh Fusco and Senior QB Gabe Taylor.  Fusco toted the football 33 times for a game high 281 yards and 2 TDs. Taylor carried the ball 13 times for 81 yards and 2 TDs. The defense was very strong especially in the 4th quarter when the Chix held off the Bulldogs who were trying to tie the game up. A huge sack by Senior DE Ryan Bellis was a game changer. Leading the defense in tackles were Senior LB Boone Bonnema (14), Junior Brendan Duneghy (10), Freshman LB Tag Bonnema (10), Bellis (9), and Senior T Adam Berghorst (9).

Next week the 6-1 Chix return to Zeeland Stadium to take on the 6-1 Dux of Zeeland West. Game time is 7:00 PM.
