It took 2 days but the Chix of Zeeland East outlasted the Maroons of Holland Christian in a thrilling game by the score of 42-39 in overtime. Offensively Senior receiver Tommy Zegunis led the Chix with 6 catches for 119 yards and 3 TDs. He also had an interception.  Junior QB Ethan Houghtaling was 11-24 passing for 175 yards with 3 TDs. He also scored the deciding TD in OT by taking the crucial 4th down play into the endzone from the three yard line.

Defensively the Chix were led by Senior Brendan Duneghy ( 14 tackles) and Senior Will Frefrickson ( 8 tackles). Also Senior Tom Tuy had a key 32 yard fumble return for a key TD in the 3rd Quarter. Junior Colin DeKraker added an inception to help the Chix cause.

Next week the Chix will be on the road again when they again travel to Holland to take on the Dutch of Holland High School at the Ray and Sue Smith Stadium.
