Zeeland East fell to Forest Hills Central 21-6 on the road Friday. The first quarter opened up slow with neither team scoring any points. Forest Hills drove down the field with their second drive into the redzone and ended up on 4th down to attempt a field goal that was blocked. The remainder of the first half went back and forth with both teams throwing an interception. 

Forest Hills ended up cutting the streak of back and forth with a blocked punt that resulted in a Rangers touchdown. Zeeland East got the ball back and ended another drive punting that was blocked again. Forest Hills drove down and scored again right before halftime making the score 14-0 entering half. 

Zeeland East opened the second half driving and scoring on the ground with Senior running back Elijah Walcott. “I had my blocks, just needed to break a tackle and the rest was a cakewalk,” Walcott stated. After the drive Zeeland East had major success on the defensive side of the ball only allowing 7 points after the half. Zeeland ended the game with a final drive towards the endzone but fizzed out with a missed 4th down and goal shot to the endzone.

Zeeland East falls to 4-3 of the year, and will host Unity Christian, October 18th at Zeeland Stadium which will also be Senior Night for the Chix.
