Zeeland East took down Hamilton Friday night 28-16 in the final regular season game securing their playoff spot. Zeeland East opened the night very slow with Hamilton going up 10-0 in the first half. Zeeland found their spark with a touchdown and a tough defensive 3-and-out giving the Chix the ball back and taking it down before half taking the lead 14-10 at the half. Zeeland continued to remain tough defensively. Zeeland East’s sophomore Isaiah Boonstra received a deep bomb from sophomore quarterback Will Drnek for a touchdown. Zeeland East’s senior running back Eli Walcott took one for 6 to secure the win. “As soon as I broke through the hole I knew I was running it in for 6.” Walcott stated. The Chix scored 28 unanswered points throughout the night.

Zeeland East successfully made it to the post season and will compete against rivals Zeeland West in the first round of the playoffs hosted at Zeeland Stadium Friday at 7:00
