On Friday, ZE took on West Ottawa for a double header. In the first JJ Salas and Koby Windeler led the way on offense each having 2 hits and a walk. On the mound Gavin Drooger pitched the first 4 innings. He struck out 5 while allowing the solo run. Luke Nagelkirk closed the game and struck out 2. The Chix won 14-1 in 5 innings.
In game 2 it was very close for the first 4 innings, score was 2-1. Then with 2 outs Quincy Thome hit a huge RBI double, the Chix then added 3 more runs after all with 2 outs. Thome and Salas each had 2 hits while Koby Windeler was 3/3. Eli Nienhuis threw really well for 4 innings striking out 4. Quincy Thome closed the game on the mound.
Overall 2 big wins for the JV team against a solid West Ottawa team. Next game is Tuesday against Wyoming.
