The Chix traveled to Byron Center on Thursday evening to play the Bulldogs. The Chix started off strong, leading 14 to 11 after the first quarter. But in the second quarter, the Chix went cold from the field, scoring only 4 points and were down 8 points at half time, 26 to 18. In the second half, the teams played fairly even, and the Chix lost 53 to 42. The Chix were led in defeat by Nathan Claerbaut, who scored 11 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and blocked 5 shots. David Ortiz scored 10 points, with 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Caleb Schrotenboer added 6 points and 4 rebounds. The Chix record now stands at 4 wins and 5 losses on the season. The team is back in action on Tuesday, January 15 as they travel to Hamilton to play the Hawkeyes.
