ZEELAND WEST HIGH SCHOOL: 37
The Chix hosted Zeeland West Thursday night and came away with a hard-fought 40-37 win. The game was closely contested throughout. The score was tied 24-24 at halftime. Zeeland West came out after halftime and took a four-point lead late into the 3rd quarter, but the Chix scored the last 4 points of the 3rd quarter and the first 4 points of the 4th quarter to take control of the game and led the rest of the way. The Dux had a chance to tie the game with a few seconds left in the game, but a 3-point shot rimmed out and the Chix held on for the win.
The Chix were led in scoring by Connor Schipper, who scored 14 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Brooks Blanton and Charlie Drnek each chipped in with 5 points.
