The JV Boys Basketball team hosted the Holland High Dutch on Thursday night in the nightcap of a Freshman/JV Boys & JV Girls triple-header and came away with a 60-43 win.  The Chix started slowly and trailed 16-8 after the first quarter.  The Chix got the offense rolling and finished the 2nd quarter in a flurry, scoring the last 9 points to lead by 4 at halftime 27-23.  In the 3rd quarter, both teams played pretty even with each other, but Holland was able to reduce the Chix lead to 1 point heading into the 4th quarter.  But in the 4th quarter, they pulled away, outscoring the Dutch 18-2 to pull away with a 17-point margin of victory.  The win improved the Chix record to 3-6 Overall and 1-2 in OK Green contests.

The Chix featured a balanced attack, with 8 players scoring in the game and 7 scoring at least 6 points.  Leading scorers:

Quincy Thome: 14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals

Eli Walcott- 8 points. 3 assists, 3 steals

Caleb Claerbaut - 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 block shots

Owen Ver Steeg - 8 points, 3 assists

Max Mulder - 8 points, 7 rebounds

Mickey Voss - 6 points, 5 rebounds

Jacob Vera - 6 points, 3 assists, 2 steals

The Chix are back in action next Tuesday, January 17 at home against Muskegon Reeths-Puffer.
