UNITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 2
On Friday the freshmen Chix baseball team was finally able to return to action as they hosted the Saders from Unity Christian. Isaiah Buitenhuis got the start on the mound for the Chix and pitched 5 strong innings to earn the win. Sam Cochran pitched two innings in relief to notch his first save of the season. The Chix played great team defense behind each pitcher . Sam Kikstra, Drew Wyckoff, and Keenan Faber all made highlight reel plays while Riley Wilson did a great job behind the plate.
Offensively the Chix were led by Luke Gruppen and Trenton Lynema who each reached base three times and scored a run. Sam Cochran scored the other run for Zeeland East.
The freshmen team will return to action on Monday at Byron Center.
