Boys Freshman Baseball vs. West Ottawa

On Friday the Chix traveled to West Ottawa for a non conference showdown. The Chix bats were hot and carried them to a 14-4 victory in 5 innings. Keenan Faber pitched a great game for the Chix going 4 2/3 innings scattering 7 hits. Trenton Lynema came in to shut down a late rally by the Panthers.
The night was highlighted by some excellent defensive play by the Chix. Riley Wilson, Luke Gruppen, Sam Kikstra,and Dominic Schuitema all made outstanding plays in the field.
The Chix had 10 hits on the night led by Drew Wyckoff, Isaiah Buitenhuis, and Luke Gruppen who each had two hits and scored at least two runs.
